Please read the story and learn that adoptions don’t always go as planned. Some can go very bad.

Today has been a mixed day, filled with excitement for many for the expected arrival of their new babies from Portugal and Spain. HOWEVER For one poor little dog the ending has not been what he was expecting. He expected to travel for 30 hours in a crate but it was going to be worth it when at the end of his journey he would be greeted by his new mummy and spend the rest of his life with love and cuddles. INSTEAD, one hour after his arrival, this woman had him PUT TO SLEEP. She knew his condition when she agreed to adopt him, she knew he was old, she knew he was blind, she knew he was a bit deaf, she was kept fully updated all through his adoption procedure.
When Antonio delivered him this morning, instead of being there to meet and greet her new arrival, she was out and her son took him. One hour later he was killed.
Had she made one phone call Antonio would have gone back and collected him and we could have put him somewhere safe. The charity in Portugal have people in UK who would have taken him and found him a home.
This woman is called Kay Lewis, and she lives in Winslow in Buckinghamshire UK. Never again should she be allowed to adopt a dog from anyone or anywhere. RIP MATEUS, at least you had some love and comfort from Antonio and Gonzalo on your long fruitless journey
I would like to stress that the charity involved was not Helping Hands but Associação dos Amigos dos Animais de Albergaria-a-Velha the original post came from Linda Soler from the group https://www.facebook.com/groups/ForTheLoveOfDogsAndCats/
